Greetings!
Global Donut Day #GlobalDonutDay) is a day of local action and global connection on Monday 13 November 2023.
London Undergrowth has been invited to participate in the London event being hosted by the London Doughnut Economy Coalition (LDEC).
We’ll be running two in-person interactive workshops in the afternoon at the Good Company Tap Cafe. Our session is called ‘Creating a Community Portrait of London’, and we’ll be inviting attendees to:
Learn about the Doughnut and what it means to different people and communities
Share their own stories and reflections, and contribute to building local action towards regenerative practices.
Here’s all the info from LDEC, including a sign-up link:
LDEC is a group of Londoners who believe that London needs a better approach to its economy. Our goal is to promote action, enthusiasm and excitement around doughnut economic principles and promote practice which makes our city more regenerative and inclusive.
At The Good Company in Camden, London Doughnut Economy Coalition and Impact on Urban Health will host Global Donut Day, a unifying day of local action and global connection, linking over 30 places, from Melbourne to Mexico City and Beijing to Brazil.
Through workshops, debates, discussions and celebrations, Global Donut Day London will consider what our city needs to do now to support an economy to provide for the needs of all Londoners, whilst respecting the environmental and ecological limits of our planet.
This is a great opportunity to get involved, share your ideas and stories and contribute to these discussions.
I hope you can make it and please feel free to share this with your networks. Here are the details for signing up on the day:
You can also follow LDEC on social media:
We hope to see you there!
If you aren’t able to join in London, there are local groups running events all over the world. Over thirty locations around the world from Melbourne to Mumbai, Beijing to Vermont will participate in #GlobalDonutDay by hosting local Donut festivals, bringing communities together in their places around #DoughnutEconomics, to learn, connect, celebrate, imagine and inspire.
